It’s time to meet one of the most fabulous female entrepreneurs in the Washington area!
Enter Sylvia Kerali, a London-born, DC-based digital strategist and the founder of Curls Understood. Her experience spans 10+ years in web strategy, social media, and digital branding. She holds a BA in architecture from Manchester University, and after graduating she moved to New York to work for a music promotion agency. Between 2005 and 2011, she founded and ran an award-winning fashion and lifestyle blog, “I Like Her Style!” and saw it featured in many national publications.
In 2013, Sylvia launched Curls Understood as a way to deliver inspiration and information to the curly hair community. Whether it’s locating a salon near you that can handle your texture, finding videos from vloggers who share your hair’s attributes, or exploring the idea of starting your own natural hair based business, they’ve got you covered.
Sylvia also recently released her first e-book which has been featured on Washington DC’s local news channel FOX 5 DC and the popular health and wellness site MindBodyGreen.com.
People who have worked with Sylvia say she is a gracious go-getter, and someone who always manages to stay one step ahead. Her personal passions include learning languages and dancing.
Sylvia definitely sounds like someone we’d love to spend some time with and we can’t wait to do just that! She is looking forward to sharing her knowledge and skills in online branding, social media and product presentation at PG.
